Alpinist and speaker
About me
Nicolas was born on July 13, 1992, and grew up in Niederscherli near Bern. After an apprenticeship as an automation technician, he studied mechanical engineering. Today, he is one of Switzerland's leading alpinists. At the age of 18, he made his first ascent of the Eiger North Face. From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the Swiss Alpine Club's expedition team. On November 11, 2015, Nicolas and fellow alpinist Ueli Steck set a new rope team speed record on the Eiger North Face.

Successes
Over the years, Nicolas has achieved first ascents and expeditions worldwide. His greatest successes include the rope team speed record on the Eiger North Face, the speed record across the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau skyline, first ascents in China, Patagonia, Norway and the Alps, as well as some of the most difficult routes in rock and ice.
